Mrs. Mitchell's Gift Shops were founded by George and Freda Mitchell in 1966 in Hampton Beach, NH. Joining the family business was Evelyn and Frank Mitchell. They along with their 6 children spent every summer running the store. Robert and Jessica Mitchell now carry on the tradition. In 1991 the Mitchell's opened their Cape Cod locations in Hyannis and West Yarmouth now run by Lynn Mitchell and her husband Gary. George, Freda, and Evelyn all passed away in the 90's and Frank in 2002. The tradition carries on and their parents and grandparents would be proud.

Recently in February of 2010, their Hampton Beach, NH location was devastated by a massive fire that destroyed Mrs. Mitchell's Gifts as well as the Surf Hotel, and the Happy Hampton Arcade and amusement center. All of these businesses were landmarks in Hampton Beach. We will keep you posted on rebuilding efforts and our plans for the future.
